Signs of a data breach

  • Unusual activity: suspicious access or unauthorized changes to the website.
  • Security alerts: Notifications from Google, an antivirus software, or monitoring services.
  • Identity theft: customers who report fraud or improper access.
  • Data leaked on the dark web: appearance in leaks databases.

How to act?

  1. Identify the source of the problem and the data that has been leaked: the most recommended tips are to change passwords, apply updates and review access permissions.
  2. Report the infiltration: inform customers and comply with the regulations set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  3. Establish a future prevention plan: implement two-step authentication or create a channel with your team for an optimal incident communication.

Protecting your data is necessary to build your company´s trust and reputation. Keep your business safe!
