  1. How did you manage to get your business known and expand its reach?

That was quite complicated, to be honest. At first, I created a Facebook page without much thought. Basically, it was followed by my family and friends, so I wasn’t really reaching anyone. Then I joined a program called Rural Women’s Challenge, where they taught me. It was a platform that gave you access to different training sessions, and then you could get mentoring with specialized people. They helped me develop a digital marketing plan, and from there, my social media presence started to grow.

  1. How have you adjusted the content you post on Instagram?

For a while, I noticed my follower count stayed pretty stable. In Burgos, I had enough clients, and the new ones that came were enough. Now, though, I’m trying to create a different kind of video content because I offer training. In these short videos, I share “training nuggets,” where I explain things, and this has really worked – in about four months, I doubled my followers, maybe even faster.

  1. What is the usefulness of drones in agriculture?

With drones, you can do sweeps and see which areas of your farm aren’t being irrigated properly. If you have a large farm, drones are very useful because they have infrared cameras. With these, you can see the land's temperature. If you detect an area with a higher temperature, it likely isn’t being watered well. You can then go to that area and inspect it without having to walk around your entire farm every day. A drone flight lets you detect when something is wrong.

  1. What advice would you give other entrepreneurs starting to sell products online?

Above all, seek help from people who know what they’re doing. I was a bit naive, and starting without much knowledge and thinking, “I’ll just set up online,” doesn’t make much sense because you need to know who your target audience is and how to reach them. For that, you really need someone to guide you. Right now, there’s a lot of training available to help you gain some basic knowledge and understand what steps you need to take; otherwise, it can be challenging.
